14th-Apr-07:  First XV promoted to London 1

The First XV will return to London One this September after two seasons away in London Two and a good performance over the past eight months which saw the team no lower than 4th in the league after the first week.

Though they were knocked out of the Intermediate Cup in the 2nd round by Staines back in November, they managed to reach the semi-final of the Kent Cup where they were finally dispatched by a strong Canterbury side who finished 4th in National 3 South.

To top things off, the end of the season saw an exhibition match between the current First XV and the squad that won the Intermediate Cup Final 10 years ago.  And although the newly promoted First XV came out strong against the former team, the more experienced veterans came through and won the match 30 - 24.

12th-Dec-06:
  Wimbledon defeated 15 - 12

The First XV beat Wimbledon 15 - 12 at St Peter's on Saturday leaving them with 6 wins from their last seven games.

However, a strong Old Colfeians  side has taken 2nd place in L2S moving the top 3 sides away from the rest of the table by at least 4 points.

The next game is a visit to 7th place Maidstone who will be looking to close their gap between the two sides to two points after beating the First XV 17 - 22 at St Peter's last month.

05th-Nov-06:
First XV go into 2nd place in L2S

The First XV move into 2nd place in L2S after Old Colfeians  slip two places after defeats from Sevenoaks and then followed by a goalless loss to Sutton & Epsom on Saturday.

Thanet now move above both Old Colfeians   and Andover with a superior goal difference after beating Tunbridge Wells 46 - 17 away from home.

Wanderers go on to play Maidstone at St Peter's next Saturday.  Maidstone lost away from home to Wimbledon on Saturday but are only 4 points away still from the First XV in L2S.

29th-Oct-06:
First XV progress to R2 of the Intermediate Cup

The First XV beat Woodford 51 - 5 comfortably this Saturday at St Peter's.  Wimbledon, Sutton & Epsom, Old Colfeians, Beckenham and London Irish also go through to the next round, while Tunbridge Wells, Andover and Lewes were knocked out of the competition.

L2S action continues next Saturday with a visit to Tunbridge Wells, who have won only one of their first 7 games this season.  Sutton & Epsom meanwhile continue their lead at the top of the table with a commanding goal difference.

15th-Oct-06:
First XV still in contention for top of table

The First XV will go on to compete with Andover next Saturday at home for 3rd place having beaten Beckenham 9 - 10.

Andover are only two points away from the First XV and have a slightly inferior points difference, allowing the First XV to recover from their past two defeats over as many weeks.

Andover have played twice away from home this season so far and have lost one of their visits.

24th-Sep-06:
Jersey lose to First XV at St Peter's

Matt McArdle provided a stunning display throughout the First XV's home game against Jersey yesterday to help taken them to a 38 - 24 victory over a side that had been topped to challenge for the L2S title.

Overall it was a great display put on by the First XV against a Jersey side that could not contain them, even though their opponents played very well also.

The First XV now go on to play 3rd place and unbeaten Old Colfeians away from home next Saturday, who have won their first 3 games away from home.

17th-Sep-06:
Perfect start continued by First XV

The First XV have beaten Lewes 10 - 47 in a comfortable win that had the biggest points difference at the weekend in L2S.  4 teams now remain unbeaten with Sutton & Epsom currently at the top.

If you were at the game then please let us know what you felt of the result in the Discussion forum.

Jersey are next up at St Peter's next Saturday.  Jersey are currently 8th in L2S after beating Wimbledon yesterday.

10th-Sep-06:
First XV start new campaign with away win

The First XV beat Sevenoaks away at Knole Paddock 13 - 14 in a game that Thanet dominated throughout the first half.  The First XV won away from home to Sevenoaks last season but won their home game against a side that finished 5th.

The First XV are away to Lewes next Saturday at the Stanley Turner Ground.  Lewes were beaten twice last season by Thanet and finished 8th in L2S.

Were you at the Sevenoaks game this Saturday?  If so, then let us know what you though of the game in the Discussion forum.

Thanet have been drawn at home against Woodford in the first round of the Intermediate Cup on 28th October.  Woodford play their rugby in London 2 North

The First XV go straight into round 2 of the Kent Cup against Tunbridge Wells away from home at St. Mark's on 21st January.  Tunbridge Wells lost to Sutton & Epsom in their first game of the season in L2S.

13th-Jul-06:
  2006 / 07 L2S Fixture Schedule

London 2 South fixtures are now available for the 2006 / 07 season which will start on 9th September with an away game against Sevenoaks.  Fixtures details can be found below and left.

Tunbridge Wells join the L2S campaign after promotion from London 3 South East along with London Irish Amateur who beat Purley John Fisher in a play-off.  London Irish are promoted from London 3 South West along with Andover who finished top of the table.

Old Colfeians drop down to L2S after finishing 11th in London League 1 and Wimbledon move across to L2S from London 2 North.
